Armed clashes in Zanjebar after breaking up a peaceful demonstration for the third day

Violent clashes broke out in Zanjebar city in the south of Yemen between Yemeni troops of soldiers and local armed people belong to Al-Fadli – the ****** in the Southern Movement – this morning.


Eye-witnesses mentioned that troops, armored military vehicles, and police patrols were spread out before the outbreak of the fight around Al-Fadli's house.


After that crowds of angry people stopped the roads in the city and pelt the police with stones after attempting to disperse them with live ammunition and tear gas.




It is worthy to be mentioned that peaceful demonstrations have been set consequently in the city for three days, against what they say "demobilizing of southern soldiers from Sana'a".


Cities of south Yemen live continuous troubles, "communal and political rights were behind them". Southerners say that they were deprived from them, after the unification in 1990, that "changed to an absolute occupation after 1994 war" as they say.
